Born in England in 1997, Mitchell has worked as an Industrial Designer in Cambridge, London, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Jakarta and presently resides in Amsterdam working with an award winning Dutch branding and industrial design studio. His career started early at age 17 when a London homewares brand bought the manufacturing rights to a bird box that he designed for a school project. Since this, he has worked with companies such as Rado, Karim Rashid, Bosch, Unilever and Canon as well as exhibiting his research into Phase Change Materials at London Design Festival in partnership with DesignJunction and Rado a few years ago.
Mitchell’s work focuses on exploring our relationship with industrial infrastructure, pouring contemplation into his objects by wandering the line between abstraction and actualisation. This infatuation with manufacturing and infrastructure likely began during the 3 years he spent in China working directly with factories while nestled amongst a rapidly evolving urban landscape.
His pieces are available offline in a number of small boutique design shops in both Amsterdam and Guangzhou with an international online shop coming late 2021.
